What changed in v1.0.1

Empty textarea fields work correctly, and the code formatter is updated in Lumos v1.0.1.

Lumos v1.0.1 was released October 27, 2026. This patch fixes textarea values and updates Prettier, the tool that formats your source files. Your component names, paths and props stay the same.

Empty textarea fields work correctly

Previously, spaces and line breaks in the Textarea component became part of the field’s value. An untouched field could hide its placeholder, pass required-field validation and submit whitespace. Prefilled text also gained unwanted whitespace.

<Textarea label="Message" placeholder="Your message" required />

This example now starts empty: the placeholder shows, and the browser asks for a value before submitting. The component uses Astro’s set:text={value} directive to set its contents without extra spaces. HTML characters remain escaped, so a supplied value is displayed as text.

Updated code formatter

  • Prettier: 3.9.6 → 3.9.10.
  • prettier-plugin-astro: 0.14.1 → 1.1.2.
  • The framework’s Astro files use the new formatter’s output. An upgrade may show indentation and line-wrapping changes alongside the textarea fix.

Other updates since v1.0.0

  • Astro and its integrations have received compatibility updates. The starter now requires Node.js 22.23.4 or newer.
  • Interactive controls prevent accidental text selection.
  • Stacki component insertion presets and column-guide settings are included in the starter.
